2021 Leadership Team


Frank Judson, Co-Director

Frank Judson serves Clarks Summit University as the Director of Admissions and the Director of Teen Leadership Conference. His ability to galvanize and lead those under his leadership is something that has led to his appointment in both positions. Judson is a natural-born leader and is sure to flourish as he leads all those involved with TLC.

Fred Defendorf, Co-Director

Fred is a 2003 graduate of Clarks Summit University. He has faithfully served at CSU for the past five years as the Coordinator of Campus life. Fred is actively involved as a Resident Director of Ridley dorm and works closely with the Student Leadership Council to plan events and build leaders. TLC has been a ministry that Fred has served in for a number of years and enjoys seeing students grow to love God. His wife Hannah and he have four children, Clark, Bryce, Gage and Hudson.


Ted Boykin, Assistant Director

Ted, “B”, is a 1989 graduate of Baptist Bible Seminary. He is an Associate Professor of Bible and Theology and at Clarks Summit University, where he has taught for the past 30 years. Ted and his wife, Sherry, along with their daughter, Katherine, have dedicated their lives to the mission of Jesus Christ, and the mission of CSU; impacting the lives of young people for the cause of Christ. One of the great joys of the Boykin family is serving the Lord and the students as a Residences Director in both Christen and Loescher Hall the past 26 years. He also serves as the Associate Dean of Students for Men. Ted is known as a man who has been transformed by the grace of God, and is passionate about sharing and showing that grace to others. He has been an Assistant Director with TLC for over 11 years.


Anna Howell, Assistant Director

Anna is a 2020 graduate of Clarks Summit University and currently serves as the Online Admissions Counselor for Graduate and Undergraduate students. She has been involved with TLC for five years, attending as a student and helping as a counselor and lead counselor. Anna has a passion for seeing young woman grow in their walks with Christ and find their true identity in Him.


Colby Bonewitz, Marketing Director

Colby is a 2018 graduate of CSU. He serves the university as the Director of Athletic Communications and enjoys discipling students, particularly athletes. Colby enjoys watching or playing almost every sport and engaging with young adults about spiritual matters. TLC was the tool God used to bring Colby to salvation and is the reason why he believes in the ministry. He serves TLC as the two Marketing Directors.


Billy Mulligan, Media Director

Billy is an alumnus of Clarks Summit University where he met his beautiful wife, Julie. Billy and Julie have two amazing children, Billy, and Ryan Elizabeth. God has gifted Billy in the area of media. The Lord allowed Billy to start a video production company called 29 Second Video. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA and is a huge Philadelphia sports fan…go birds. Billy also play the drums and enjoy fishing and hanging out with his family.

Mike Show, Speaker Liasion

Mike Show has been a prominent part of Clarks Summit University for the better part of 20 years. Two years after graduating from BBC in 1994, Show was named the head coach of the Defenders basketball program. Show’s standard of success as a coach was not measured by the number of accolades he has received, but by the number of players he has helped become true men of character. He also served as the Athletic Director and in 2014, he retired from both positions. After a few years away from Clarks Summit, Show made his return to CSU in 2019 as the Recruitment and Relations Administrator. In 2021, he was added to the TLC Leadership team, serving as the Speaker Liaison. His ability to communicate effectively and challenge others spiritually is a vital asset to the TLC team. 


TLC Staff Positions


Clarks Summit University students and alumni serve as ounselors. They are energetic and fun, and they desire to counsel teens towards pursuing Christ in their daily walk. 


The TLC music team seeks to go beyond music by leading students in a lifestyle of worship. The team is made up of Clarks Summit University students. Learn more about RiSE Music and Worship


Our TLC child care workers seek to provide quality care and fun for children of youth workers attending TLC. The team is made up of students and alumni of Clarks Summit University.


The TLC Nurse is available each day from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.


At TLC, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our students. Our Safety and Security Department serves the campus by maintaining a safe and peaceful environment.
